West Side Movers was founded in 1972 by Steve Fiore. We started with one moving van and we currently operate six moving trucks, a packing truck, and one box delivery van. The company moved into its present location at 644 Amsterdam Avenue in 1981.

Some companies that we've moved include Union Theological Seminary, Tiffany & Company, Symphony Space, and WNET/Thirteen. Famous people that we've moved include Robert Redford, Christopher Reeves, Paul Simon, Bianca Jagger, Cher, Carrie Fisher, Eddie Fisher, Carol King, Carol Kane, Robert McNeil, Ed Bradley, Linda Hunt, Roy Scheider, and Debbie Reynolds.

West Side Movers is available for personal and commercial moving, and box sales and delivery.

The following is a two paragraph review of West Side Movers taken from Gerry Frank's "Where to Find it, Buy it, Eat it in New York" 1998-1999 edition:

"Steve Fiore started West Side Movers in the kitchen of his studio apartment more than 25 years ago. Business was so good that he soon moved into a storefront. He was happy there until he realized the magnitude of requests he was getting from people who wanted to rent and buy dollies and boxes of all sizes. A man who knows a good business opportunity when he sees one, Fiore moved into a brownstone storefront on Amsterdam Avenue in order to sell nothing but moving aids and paraphernalia. The main stock-in-trade is still boxes. They come in a multitude of sizes, including three different tones just for mirrors. He rents and sells dollies, in addition to moving pads. Since all items are built to the specifications of professional movers, they are durable.

We came to West Side Movers via their moving store. But such ecumenical and diverse groups as the Union Theological Seminary and Tiffany & Company came to West Side Movers by recommendation and have added their accolades to the file. A company with a subdivision that specializes in helping people move themselves (by selling boxes and moving supplies) has to be top-notch. West Side Movers pays particular attention to efficiency, promptness, care, and courtesy. Customer after customer has called their staff the most courteous they've dealt with-and they don't dent the furniture, either!"
